Litigation Paralegal
Leading, global, law firm that is annually ranked as one of the 100 best places to work is conducting a search for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to assist Firm attorneys on commercial cases, arbitrations, and white-collar criminal defense matters in our fast paced Litigation & Trial Practice Group. Candidates who apply must have prior experience in civil litigation and electronic discovery. Criminal litigation experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates should be self-starters, highly organized and team players. Overtime is often needed to meet client deadlines.
Requirements
- Prior experience with document management software systems and electronic discovery
- Prior experience with large case management and civil litigation
- Cite checking experience a plus
- Exceptional organization skills and great attention to detail
- Flexibility to work overtime hours as needed
- Previous paralegal experience of 3-4 years in a related litigation environment preferred
Essential Duties
- Reviewing and analyzing matters for the purpose of preparing status reports to attorneys and clients
- Establishing, organizing, and maintaining pleadings, attorney trial notebooks, expert witness notebooks, document indexes and lists
- Participating in interviews of parties, witnesses, and experts and providing assistance with interview memos, written statements, and/or affidavits
- Reviewing and outlining depositions, indexes and summarizing documents
- Providing assistance in the trial of cases including the scheduling of witnesses and tracking exhibits
- Performing assigned legal research tasks using all available resources, including libraries and computer data systems
- Proofreading and marking legal documents
- Interacting with clients and maintaining files
Education Requirements
- A four year college degree required
