Business Development and Marketing Specialist

Premier, boutique, litigation, law firm is seeking a Business Development and Marketing Specialist to generate, implement, and support a broad range of firm and attorney marketing and business development activities across their two offices, in New York and Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities
- Work hand in hand with the Director of Business Development and Marketing to advance a proactive marketing and business development program that supports strategic objectives and aligns with firm objectives.
- Plan, research, monitor, and draft awards submissions and nominations, and social media contributions, as well as maintain the submission calendar on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborate with lawyers to gather matter information and collect all relevant data to maintain the matter database.
- Onboard new attorneys by drafting bios, integrating client and contact lists, arranging headshots, and related tasks.
- Edit website content and practice specific materials to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Create and repurpose content for external communications on various platforms.
- Provide strategic and creative support for internal and external communications programs, write/design collateral as needed for marketing and client development projects.
- Foster consistent collaboration with the event planning process and assist with the execution of internal and external events, conferences, and webinars.
- Handle logistics with sponsorship organizers for all needs leading up to the event.
- Track press mentions, speaking engagements, sponsorships, board memberships and related tasks.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications The successful candidate will have a combination of employment, educational, and life experience that demonstrates the qualities and skills below:
- Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or another related field preferred. At least 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in marketing at a law firm, is required.
- Knowledge and Skills:You have a basic understanding of CRM software platforms (hands-on experience a plus).You have familiarity with event planning procedure and details. You have advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, web editing and email marketing software.
- Clear Communication and Attention to Detail: You have outstanding communication skills, excel in both written and oral communication, and are able to develop strong relationships with attorneys and professionals at all levels, both internally and externally. You proactively communicate the status of your work and share updates with colleagues when necessary. You ensure that your work is mistake-free. You have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ownership, Initiative, and Teamwork:You are a dedicated self-starter who takes ownership of your projects and follows through on their completion. You proactively anticipate, communicate, and work independently and resourcefully to resolve obstacles you encounter in your work. You possess a strong customer-service orientation and the ability to work well within a team and serve as a brand champion.
- Organization and Project Management:You are comfortable balancing tasks of varying levels of urgency and complexity. You work well under pressure and are able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Flexibility:You are flexible to be available after hours and to work overtime as needed. You are comfortable in an environment where your responsibilities may vary from day to day. You demonstrate a “no job too big, no job too small” attitude, and take a collaborative, team-focused approach to rejuggling priorities and contributing to tasks across the Firm.

*In addition, the successful candidate will be based in the New York area or willing to relocate and will be available to work 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid position.
**Compensation: The expected base salary for this role ranges from $85,000.00-$100,000.00, plus overtime and bonus and is dependent on experience.
