Interested candidates need to have experience in IP docketing and a desire to grow in their knowledge.  Ideal candidates will also have an overall understanding of patent processes and procedures. A strong attention to detail and the ability to look at the data analytically will be important for success in this role.  Knowledge of and experience with docketing software, particularly Pattsy Wave and Patricia are preferred. A working knowledge of general office procedures, along with the capability to prioritize competing deadlines is also preferred. Ideal candidates should have the ability to work independently while handling complex situations, while also having flexibility to stay beyond normal working hours when workload demands.

Essential Duties

• Docketing of US and foreign patent and trademark Patent Office mail and correspondence
• Creating and running reports from patent and trademark database
• Assist with coordinating coverage and workflow within department
• Assist with training within Docketing Department
• Member of Intake and Transfer Team, assisting with large intakes
• Special projects as assigned

Skills Needed to be Successful

• High School Diploma Required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 2-4 years of patent docketing experience required
• Experience in trademark docketing preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment where needs and priorities constantly change
• Prior experience with a docketing software system, preference will be given to experience with Pattsy Wave or Patricia
