Senior Business Development Coordinator

 Summary

The Senior Business Development Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and successful execution of a variety of business development and marketing initiatives. The Senior Business Development Coordinator will, among other duties, research targets, prepare and coordinate pitch materials, prepare PowerPoint presentations, and monitor various business development budgets. All activities entail a high level of attorney contact and visibility, and may include individual attorneys and various practice groups within the firm.

 Duties

The Senior Business Development Coordinator has responsibility for working with the Senior Business Development Manager and practice group leaders relative to the following activities:

  • Assist with RFP responses by working with attorneys to draft, collect, and/or organize content as received from attorneys. May involve formatting, editing and submitting by deadline. Track pitch materials after presentations.
  • Work with attorneys to develop customized materials for prospect/client presentations; respond to requests and initiate projects. May involve performing basic industry, prospect, firm experience and competitor research. Includes drafting, editing or proofreading materials, recommending changes and working with other business development staff to execute projects in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with directory, award and ranking submissions by working with attorneys to draft and collect information.
  • Manage mailing lists related to practice group and office marketing efforts.
  • Assist with lateral hire process, including drafting biographies and orientation packets.
  • Assist in implementing the Charlotte office marketing and public relations plan.
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external practice group and office events. Includes travel to Research Triangle and Dallas offices.
  • Work with Finance and Accounting to analyze client relationships and trends. Develop presentations based on results.
  • Communication with the Senior Business Development Manager in Charlotte is of utmost importance. Weekly project status updates are required, as well as key information updates more frequently as necessary/requested.
  • Track and capture credentialing activities; prepare drafts for survey responses.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness of practice information on the firm’s external website, for various practice areas.
  • Monitor the use and updating of client contacts/client team activity information within the InterAction software system. 

Qualifications

  • Detail oriented, excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • A high level of energy and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment is essential, as is the ability to multi-task and prioritize.• Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial (spelling, grammar usage, writing skills, etc.).
  • Thorough knowledge of legal marketing terms and concepts are required.• Advanced experience with InterAction, Elite and Concierge a plus.
  • Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mid-level proficiency in online research and internet resources.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications.
  • Mid-to-Advanced knowledge of legal concepts.• Ability to effectively interact with lawyers.
  • 3-6 years of professional services marketing is required, AmLaw 100 law firm marketing experience strongly preferred and managerial responsibilities preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications is preferred, MBA is a plus.
