Attorney Hiring Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY
Premier, Fortune 100 best places to work ranked, global, law firm is seeking an Attorney Hiring Manager in the North Carolina Region. This individual will work closely with the Director of Attorney Hiring and have primary responsibility for the coordination, implementation and daily functioning of the lawyer recruitment program for entry-level and lateral hiring, including strategic planning, the fall on-campus interview program, and the summer associate program for the Charlotte and Raleigh offices. Successful candidates must have sufficient work experience, together with personal leadership abilities to enable them to plan for, implement and supervise various recruiting functions and staff as well as possess the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and in a team oriented environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Participates in the strategic planning for summer program recruiting, entry-level hiring and lateral attorney hiring.
• Manages the Charlotte and Raleigh offices’ on-campus interview dates at law schools including coordination of schedules with the Atlanta office.
• Maintains communications and relationships with Law School Placement Offices.
• Prepares descriptive information provided to law schools and applicants, including NALP Forms, firm resumes, questionnaires, and other reports.
• Serves as a liaison between the firm and each student, judicial clerk or lateral candidate during the interview process.
• Manages fall on-campus process interview program and office interviews with applicants.
• Manages summer associate program, including social activities, evaluation process, office assignments and other administrative arrangements.
• Provides descriptive information to law schools and applicants, including law school forms, NALP form, firm resume.
• Assigns on-campus interview teams (with approval from Chairman of Hiring Committee).
• Organizes training materials and sessions for on-campus interview teams.
• Assists with pre-screening of candidates for on-campus interviews.
• Prepares or reviews all descriptive information on the firm provided to applicants and law schools, including firm resume.
• Assists with the scheduling of special social events, cocktail parties, and dinners in connection with the on-campus interview process.
• Responsible for the Charlotte and Raleigh recruiting budgets.
• Meets with Hiring Partner and on-campus interview teams regarding candidates to call back for second interviews.
• Supervises the preparation of interview schedules for summer associate candidates, entry-level and judicial clerk candidates and lateral candidates.
• Greets applicants during office interviews.
• Supervises the Charlotte and Raleigh offices’ summer associate programs, including performance reviews.
• Coordinates follow-up efforts with candidates to whom offers have been extended, including fall on-campus interview candidates, summer associates and lateral applicants.
• Oversees the coordination, preparation of materials and the agenda for the fall Hiring Committee meetings.
• Supervises and participates in the planning and coordination of summer associate program social events
• Attends the key summer associate program events.
• Identifies summer program mentors and on-campus recruiting teams.
• Prepares and maintains records of all applicants in viRecruit.
• Prepares status reports for the Hiring Chair and Director.
• Maintains communications and relationships with Legal Search Consultants.
• Identifies candidates, with the assistance of attorney practice group leaders, for lateral attorney openings, arranges interviews as appropriate.
• Manages procedures for obtaining proper approval for newly identified lateral searches.
• Manages the lateral interview process including approval for offers, assuring that conflict checks and other due diligence are conducted.
• Attends Hiring Committee and Summer Program Committee meetings.
• Serves as a member of the Charlotte Legal Recruitment Association (RAC), attends monthly meetings and various related activities.
• Serves as a member of the National Association of Law Placement.
• Other duties as requested by the Director and Hiring Chair.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelors’ Degree and a minimum of 3-5 years previous experience in a law firm or professional services setting, preferably as a manager.
